Morning Barbara! Morning Bevalooloo!! MORNING everyone!!! Lovely that you've set this up Barbs 😊🥰☺️ I'm not sleeping well at all. I'm on the yacht at a mooring in Helford Passage (near the real Frenchman's Creek, interestingly) I keep waking in the night with a LOT of mental chatter that's difficult to shut down. I use Headspace, an App, to try and defocus on it bit it doesn't always work. I also hate sleeping in a sleeping bag. And my bunk is too short and narrow!!!! So I'm here. I'll be getting in to Falmouth tomorrow at noon. www.turntostarboard.co.uk/long-way-up-live-gps-tracker/ All 5 yachts are here and we'll join up with Turn to Starboard's flagship, of sorts, the Sailing Vessel Spirit of Falmouth. The press are coming to do a thing about it all and we then have a reception at T2S hq a little walk away from Pendennis Marina where we're berthing. Then it's a bit of a chance to relax and pack up. Probably go and (try and) sing some sea shantys in the Cutty Sark or Windjammer. Then everyone will disperse on Saturday and see how long the positive effects and energy we've got from the experience will last. No doubt we'll discuss with the staff other opportunities to train and sail and qualify through the work T2S do, and as I only live 30 mins away from the office I'm sure I'll become a regular here. www.turntostarboard.co.uk/who-we-are/our-statement-of-purpose/Don't worry, I will continue the Wetwheels voluntéering too. I get too much from that to let it go that easily. I've got loads from this though. Maybe that's for a separate thread but I'll just say it's been a very good experience best of this year or last, for sure.

Good morning Ant, my action man !! x sorry I do not know your real name, but I have just been to look at the website that you are part of...https://www.turntostarboard.co.uk/who-we-are/our-statement-of-purpose/ this is so amazing, such a wonderful place, so many people must be so grateful for this amazing place to be helped and supported.
The reason my son Dale became so keen on sailing was because when he was at school, one of the school trips was to go on the Winston Churchill...a 3 masted schooner ?? it was for 6 weeks, but I could not afford to let him go..I was bringing my children up alone, with no help from my ex husband, I knew he was so disappointed, but I just did not have the money.
One day, when I arrived home from the office, I had a phone call from a gentleman, very nicely spoken, and he asked if he could come to visit me at home to discuss Dale's wish to go on the trip, I agreed, but thought to myself, he will be getting Dale's hopes up and he cannot go..anyway, the gentleman arrived that evening, and we sat down, he was asking Dale all sorts of questions...
I just sat and listened...after about an hour, he got up to leave, my daughter, Dale & I went to the door to let him out, and he turned to us as I was about to close the door, and said....... I sponsor one child a year, and if Dale would love to come, then I will sponsor him, well...I just stood there and cried !! tears of joy, so truly grateful to that man...
Dale went on this trip and everyone on it had to work that ship, I know Ant, I have not used the correct wording, but I had a postcard from Dale...said he had to go up to the top of a mast in a force 10 gale !!! he loved every moment, and that trip made a man of him..and from then on, all he strived for was to find work when he left school to enable him to by a boat, this was one of the most amazing things for him....with no father who cared about him to guide him, now he was fit and of the mind to tackle anything...he has grown into the most wonderful of sons, so caring, very very clever too.... so what you are doing Ant, is so very very special....I admire you.
Thank you x hope you've managed to catch up on some sleep...and I know the feeling well, when you cannot switch your mind off !! take care dear man.
I do hope everyone has a happy day...a bit chilly here in Dorset today., but the sun is shining in a clear blue sky.
Be safe.
Barbara x

Maybe everyone is just waiting to see what happens with the original PP Forum first.
Then again, maybe we just don't want to talk to each other.
As for me, I just don't have the time for either forum at the moment.

Happy End of 2021 folks. Hope you have an enjoyable evening whatever you get up to.
I'm planning a Grimm marathon, and continuing the 'Where the @$£% have the kittens hidden my memory stick?' search, which will probably be combined with the 'how do they lose so many toy mice?' search

Well I hear from a little birdy that the original Pure Planet community’s closing down soon, so maybe this clever shadow one can come into its own now?
