Wow, another reason to be suspicious of that big on/off switch inside smart meters. I'd thought it was mainly a risk from hackers, but sneaky adjustments to pre-payment sounds so easy.
I wonder if suppliers will use the on/off switches to control demand during peak times as we head into winter power cut season. "Oh look, Fred is drawing 60A, let's turn him off for an hour..."

I understand there are suggestions to stop suppliers charging more for those using pre-payment meters than they do for the rest of us.
The commercial world though looks appalling. Having helped look at figures for one body the current rates are horrific for a business. I have seen quotes that increase the total current costs by over 800%.
