Similar costs as @gerryhatricks, but we've been away here and there scratching our heads where to move to. We live in 3 bed terraced house. Need the heat and less brief showers, cos we're soft like butter in the Souf

Pleasant surprise today. Shell email me with their new rates from January and their charges are going down not up. Mind you ever so slightly! They reckon it will save me £13 p.a. but their estimate of what I use or will use is way out, indeed higher.

They reckon it will save me £13 p.a. but their estimate of what I use or will use is way out, indeed higher. My email told me that my electricity rate was going up slightly. The gas rate and standing charges remain the same. Will increase by approx £23 pa, but likewise on the estimated usage, according to their website they can't estimate my usage as the don't have sufficient information. Must be a guesstimate

I just looked at my email from them and scratched my head as it seemed contradictory. What is Price Cap rates and what is Energy Price Guarantee rates? After all this they say my rates won't change! It's changing, yet it's not changing... huh? What happens in January? I thought the government scheme went through to April?

It's the one where the Electricity Tariff increases and nothing else. It costs us all about £5 a year.
Heard it on the radio, but not the detail as I'm not taking it all in at the mo. My spread sheet confirmed the £5 and a few pence. The few pence might drop off coz we've had Double Glazing installed in the front of the house. What a saga.... that was. Confirmed what I always thought of Double Glazers from the sales twot and getting them back until it was completed to our satisfaction.
