My first thought was at least it's not Scottish Power!

Sort of relieved it's not BG,, checking the tariff we will be on, it will cost me approx £138 a year more than with PP

Makes me sad to be with Shell.
24% on elec and 22% on gas for me. Plus about £9 something equivalent membership fee compared to £6.67. Not converted that all to yearly money yet.

I was going to suggest getting to the front of the queue for a heat pump grant. However, the 4-5 times heat output gain compared to electricity input, doesn't make it any cheaper to run than gas. Plus they are fairly rubbish at warming you up when it's very frosty outside. 😏

Have you been able to log into your Shell account? All I have received is a Welcome email with no information other than I'll be on the standard variable tariff (not the actual rates).

OUCH!
If I’ve done the calculations correctly (based on my usage Oct-2020 to Sep-2021), the increase from my PP Fixed Tariff (to Feb 2022) to Shell Flexible 6 (Southern Scotland) is as follows (includes standing charge, PP dual fuel discount, VAT):
gas +31% elec +34% total +32% (about + £275)
The increase from the PP membership fee to the Shell standing charge is 35%!

Wow, you get the prize! And you lose the dual fuel discount. Ouch, ouch! I don't quite understand why mine is so much higher than others. Some possibilities: - My calculations are wrong
- Their calculations are wrong
- Shell Scotland South rates are higher than other regions
- My PP tariff (100% Green 12m Fixed Direct, to 13-Feb-22) was lower than others (£5.75/fuel/mo, maybe lower daily rates?)

I am on a later fixed tariff (May 21 16m fixed) which is maybe a better deal. 😊
