That amazingly cute little one is only 23W and uses solid state Peltier technology. It does pull moisture out of the air around drying laundry and the draft and noise is minimal too. It's not been challenged by a very moist situation yet.

It's not been challenged by a very moist situation yet. I had one of those small ones, but there always seemed to be a metallic smell around it so I stopped using it and got the bigger one

No such sniff issue for this one so far!
I played with the same tech but in reverse recently. A fan for the top of a log burner. It too has a Peltier strip, but working the other way round. A heat differential creates volts, rather than volts creating a cold surface onto which moisture condenses. Clever both.
